Description:

This webinar will explore state-of-the-art approaches to assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals with primary progressive aphasia (PPA). The speaker will discuss evidence-based restitutive as well as compensatory treatment approaches and highlight new interventions targeting communication dyads and communication partner training.

Learning Objectives:
You will be able to:

  • describe the pathological basis and clinical features of PPA, including non-language symptoms that may emerge with disease progression
  • explain current approaches to assessment and differential diagnosis in PPA
  • demonstrate how restitutive and compensatory speech-language intervention, care partner training, and counseling each play a critical role in management of PPA
